Il Museo Castello ospita, a partire dal 12 ottobre, una mostra permanente dedicata ai lavori di restauro del castello eseguiti da Edoardo Berta tra il 1922 e il 1926, curata da Chiara Lumia. La mostra offre un’immersione nella storia recente del maniero, permettendo di scoprire il territorio di Locarno e le sue trasformazioni dal XIX secolo ai giorni nostri.
All’inaugurazione segue un aperitivo. Evento gratuito.

Inauguration of the exhibition L’arte del restauro. Edoardo Berta al Castello di Locarno
Starting from October 12th, the Museo Castello hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to the restoration work on the castle carried out by Edoardo Berta between 1922 and 1926, curated by Chiara Lumia. The exhibition offers an immersion into the recent history of the manor, allowing visitors to discover the territory of Locarno and its transformations from the 19th century to the present day.
The event is free and will be followed by a complimentary drinks reception.

La mostra, in corso al Museo dal 15 settembre 2024 al 5 gennaio 2025, si inserisce nel filone che il Museo di Ascona dedica alla valorizzazione delle figure più significative del territorio ticinese e mette in dialogo le opere recenti della coppia di artisti Ruth (Svitto 1944) e Giancarlo Moro (Ginevra 1944) di Cavigliano, nate da più di cinquant’anni di vita comune e di confronto artistico coeso. Pur lavorando con stili e modalità diversi, le loro opere, scelte appositamente per gli spazi museali, esprimono una forte assonanza che trova coesione proprio nel loro interesse comune per l’universo formale orientale, essenziale, cosmico e olistico.

The exhibition, on view at the Museum from 15 September 2024 to 5 January 2025, is part of the thread that the Ascona Museum dedicates to the valorisation of the most significant figures of the Ticino territory and brings into dialogue the recent works of the artist couple Ruth (Schwyz 1944) and Giancarlo Moro (Geneva 1944) from Cavigliano, born from more than fifty years of common life and cohesive artistic confrontation. Although they work with different styles and modalities, their works, specially chosen for the museum spaces, express a strong assonance that finds cohesion precisely in their common interest in the oriental, essential, cosmic and holistic formal universe.

Discovering a 100-year history made of iron, stone and cement. But also and above all of ingenuity, passion, sweat and countless human events.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Locarno-Domodossola railway line coming into service, the Museo Regionale delle Centovalli e Pedemonte is taking part in the jubilee with an exhibition dedicated to this fascinating railway infrastructure in the middle of the mountains, to the men who imagined and built it, and to the people who used it and made it work over time.
