L’épistolière
L’épistolière è un progetto espositivo curato da Giada Olivotto e Giacomo Galletti (Sonnenstube) che riunisce le pratiche artistiche di Simone Holliger, Simonetta Martini e Romane de Watteville.
La mostra prende avvio dalle lettere che Elisar von Kupffer indirizzò ad alcune personalità del Novecento, assunte come innesco per una riflessione sulle forme della corrispondenza, della trasmissione delle idee e della possibilità di rivolgersi all’altro.
Attraverso una serie di lettere immaginarie, opere pittoriche, scultoree e installative, il progetto intreccia la figura di von Kupffer con l’Archivio Anarchico Vanza, costruendo una costellazione di relazioni tra storia e presente. Più che ricostruire una narrazione lineare, L’épistolière indaga un’etica della relazione, interrogando il valore del dialogo, della cura e del pacifismo come pratiche necessarie nel nostro tempo.
In occasione dell’Art Weekend, Sonnenstube ha invitato delle personalità a leggere ad alta voce alcune lettere selezionate. Queste letture apriranno il percorso per una visita guidata alla mostra.

L’épistolière
L’épistolière is an exhibition project curated by Giada Olivotto and Giacomo Galletti (Sonnenstube) that brings together the practices of Simone Holliger, Simonetta Martini, and Romane de Watteville.
The exhibition originates from the letters that Elisar von Kupffer addressed to various figures of the twentieth century, which are taken as a starting point for a reflection on forms of correspondence, the transmission of ideas, and the possibility of addressing the other.
Through a series of imaginary letters, alongside painterly, sculptural, and installation-based works, the project intertwines the figure of von Kupffer with the Vanza Anarchist Archive, constructing a constellation of relations between past and present. Rather than reconstructing a linear narrative, L’épistolière explores an ethics of relation, questioning the value of dialogue, care, and pacifism as practices that remain urgent in our time.
As part of Art Weekend, Sonnenstube has invited several guests to read aloud a selection of letters. These readings will kick off a guided tour of the exhibition.

Concerto immersivo – a cura di Mimmo Prisco
In occasione del Locarno e Valli Art Weekend, la Fondazione Ghisla Art Collection invita il pubblico a vivere un’esperienza che unisce arti visive e musica.
Sabato 10 e domenica 11 ottobre, alle ore 16.00, il chitarrista e direttore dell’Accademia Vivaldi di Locarno Mimmo Prisco presenterà una performance musicale della durata di circa 40 minuti, con composizioni originali realizzate appositamente a partire dalle opere di Elisabeth Scherfig, protagonista della mostra antologica allestita presso la Fondazione.
La chitarra entrerà in dialogo con le trame, i ritmi e le strutture dell’artista tedesca, creando una fitta connessione tra suono e immagine. Le composizioni di Prisco offriranno una nuova chiave di lettura delle opere, mettendone in luce aspetti formali, narrativi ed emotivi attraverso un linguaggio musicale originale. Ne nascerà un percorso immersivo, fatto di contrasti, armonie e rimandi, nel quale il pubblico potrà attraversare liberamente due forme espressive capaci di arricchirsi a vicenda.

Immersive concert – curated by Mimmo Prisco
As part of the Locarno Valley Art Weekend, the Fondazione Ghisla Art Collection invites visitors to experience a unique encounter between visual art and music.
On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, at 4.00 pm, guitarist and Director of the Accademia Vivaldi in Locarno Mimmo Prisco will present a 40-minute musical performance featuring original compositions created specifically in response to the works of Elisabeth Scherfig, whose retrospective exhibition is currently on view at the museum.
The guitar will enter into dialogue with the artist’s textures, rhythms and visual language, creating a rich interplay between sound and image. Prisco’s compositions offer a new perspective on Scherfig’s work, revealing unexpected formal, narrative and emotional dimensions through music. The result is an immersive journey of contrasts, harmonies and resonances, inviting visitors to move freely between two artistic languages that enrich one another.

Fondazione Remo Rossi

La Fondazione Remo Rossi festeggia nel 2026 i 10 anni di apertura al pubblico. Per l’occasione propone una mostra riassuntiva, con una scelta di opere delle mostre tenutesi fino ad oggi nella casa dell’artista locarnese Remo Rossi, sede della Fondazione omonima.
Il pubblico potrà quindi soffermarsi di fronte ai disegni realizzati da Remo Rossi durante i suoi viaggi di studio in Grecia e Turchia, osservare come i suoi amici artisti lo hanno raffigurato, ammirare la statuetta del “Pardo”, accanto alle opere legate al tema del circo, e contemplare le opere degli artisti che lavorarono negli anni Settanta presso gli atelier di Via Nessi, messi loro a disposizione da Remo Rossi a partire dalla fine degli anni Cinquanta del secolo scorso, quali Fritz Glarner, Hans Richter, Italo Valenti e Jean Arp. Il pubblico avrà la possibilità di immergersi nell’atmosfera di questi atelier grazie ad alcune fotografie di Roberto Pellegrini, scattate al loro interno dopo il disastroso evento di fine agosto 2023. Da ultimo completa l’esposizione una piccola versione del “Toro”, esposto nella recente mostra per i 100 anni del Patto di Locarno.
Nell’ambito della rassegna del Locarno e Valli Art Weekend la mostra sarà accompagnata da uno spettacolo della compagnia Lucy & Lucky Loop, destinato sia ad adulti che piccini.

In 2026, the Remo Rossi Foundation celebrates the 10th anniversary of its opening to the public. To mark the occasion, it presents a retrospective exhibition featuring a selection of works from the exhibitions held to date at the home of the Locarno artist Remo Rossi, now the headquarters of the Foundation that bears his name.
Visitors will have the opportunity to linger over the drawings Remo Rossi created during his study trips to Greece and Turkey, discover how fellow artists portrayed him, admire the “Pardo” statuette alongside works inspired by the theme of the circus, and contemplate works by the artists who worked in the Via Nessi studios during the 1970s. These studios were made available by Remo Rossi from the late 1950s to artists such as Fritz Glarner, Hans Richter, Italo Valenti, and Jean Arp. Visitors will also be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of these studios through a selection of photographs by Roberto Pellegrini, taken inside the buildings after the devastating event that occurred at the end of August 2023. The exhibition concludes with a small-scale version of Toro (“Bull”), which was recently displayed in the exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of the Locarno Treaties.
As part of the Locarno e Valli Art Weekend, the exhibition will be accompanied by a performance by the Lucy & Lucky Loop company, designed to delight both adults and children.

In occasione della mostra L’occhio dinamico. Traiettorie della percezione, i più piccoli e le loro famiglie sono invitati a vivere un’esperienza che unisce arte, scienza e creatività.
Dopo un breve momento di osservazione delle opere in mostra, i bambini scopriranno come il nostro cervello interpreta le immagini e come, a volte, ciò che vediamo possa sorprenderci. Attraverso semplici esperimenti, giochi visivi e attività manuali, realizzeranno piccoli oggetti ispirati alle illusioni ottiche, sperimentando con colori, forme e luce in modo divertente e coinvolgente.
Il laboratorio, pensato appositamente per questa fascia d’età, stimola curiosità, osservazione e fantasia, trasformando il museo in un luogo dove imparare giocando e condividere un’esperienza speciale insieme ai propri accompagnatori.

Quanto possiamo davvero fidarci di ciò che vediamo? La visita guidata alla mostra L’occhio dinamico. Traiettorie della percezione accompagna il pubblico in un viaggio attraverso oltre settant’anni di ricerca artistica dedicata al tema della visione.
Dall’Arte Cinetica all’Op Art, fino alle più recenti sperimentazioni contemporanee, il percorso presenta opere che trasformano l’osservazione in un’esperienza attiva, invitando il visitatore a muoversi nello spazio, cambiare punto di vista e confrontarsi con immagini che sembrano mutare davanti ai suoi occhi.
Illusioni ottiche, anamorfosi, installazioni immersive e opere interattive mostrano come il significato di un’opera non sia mai fisso, ma nasca dall’incontro tra l’arte e lo sguardo di chi osserva. Una visita che invita a guardare le opere con occhi nuovi e a scoprire come l’arte possa trasformare il nostro modo di vedere il mondo.

The Curious Eye: Discovering Optical Illusions – In collaboration with Science & Kids
On the occasion of the exhibition The Dynamic Eye. Trajectories of Perception, young children and their families are invited to enjoy an experience that brings together art, science and creativity.
After a short introduction to selected artworks in the exhibition, children will discover how our brains interpret images and how what we see can sometimes surprise us. Through simple experiments, visual games and hands-on activities, they will create small objects inspired by optical illusions while exploring colours, shapes and light in a fun and engaging way.
Designed specifically for this age group, the workshop encourages curiosity, observation and imagination, transforming the museum into a place where learning happens through play and where families can share a unique and memorable experience together.

How much can we really trust what we see? This guided tour of The Dynamic Eye. Trajectories of Perception takes visitors on a journey through more than seventy years of artistic research devoted to the theme of vision.
From Kinetic Art and Op Art to the latest contemporary experiments, the exhibition presents works that transform looking into an active experience, inviting visitors to move through space, change their point of view and engage with images that seem to shift before their eyes.
Optical illusions, anamorphoses, immersive installations and interactive artworks reveal that the meaning of an artwork is never fixed, but emerges through the encounter between the artwork and the viewer’s gaze. A thought-provoking tour that invites visitors to see art with fresh eyes and discover how it can transform the way we perceive the world.

Caccia all’arte! Un’avventura in famiglia al Museo Casorella
Un pomeriggio dedicato alle famiglie per vivere il Museo Casorella in modo divertente e coinvolgente. Attraverso una caccia al tesoro tra la mostra dedicata a Jean Arp, il Giardino Max Bill, bambini e adulti saranno chiamati a risolvere indovinelli, superare piccole sfide e osservare con attenzione opere, forme e dettagli nascosti.
Tappa dopo tappa, i partecipanti scopriranno curiosità sui due artisti, sul loro linguaggio creativo e sul loro modo di interpretare la natura, la geometria e lo spazio, trasformando la visita in un’esperienza di gioco, scoperta e collaborazione.
Al termine del percorso, ogni famiglia prenderà parte a un laboratorio artistico ispirato alle opere osservate, sperimentando materiali e tecniche per realizzare una propria creazione. Art Treasure Hunt! A Family Adventure at Museo Casorella
Spend an enjoyable and engaging afternoon with your family at Museo Casorella. Through an exciting treasure hunt across the exhibition dedicated to Jean Arp and the Max Bill Garden, children and adults will work together to solve riddles, complete fun challenges, and carefully observe artworks, shapes, and hidden details.
Step by step, participants will discover fascinating facts about the two artists, their creative language, and the ways they interpreted nature, geometry, and space, transforming the museum visit into an experience of play, exploration, and collaboration.
At the end of the treasure hunt, each family will take part in a hands-on art workshop inspired by the artworks they have discovered, experimenting with different materials and techniques to create their own artistic piece. Arte floreale per Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach
La Fondazione Marguerite Arp (FMA) propone un incontro con Verena Pedrotta, la fiorista di Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach. In dialogo con la storica dell’arte Misia Bernasconi, Verena Pedrotta accompagnerà il pubblico attraverso il giardino del Ronco dei Fiori condividendo le sue approfondite conoscenze in ambito botanico e i suoi ricordi di Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach.
Grazie a fotografie d’epoca, sarà possibile ripercorrere alcuni momenti salienti della vita sociale nel giardino dei coniugi Arp, come feste di compleanno e altri eventi, sempre arricchiti di composizioni floreali.
L’evento si inserisce nel filone dedicato al giardino della tenuta in cui hanno vissuto i coniugi Jean/Hans Arp (1886-1966) e Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach (1902-1994), un luogo speciale in cui natura e arte convivono e che costituisce un patrimonio prezioso che richiede cure costanti, attenzione e responsabilità condivisa.

Floral art for Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach
The Fondazione Marguerite Arp (FMA) is hosting a talk with Verena Pedrotta, Marguerite Arp’s florist. In conversation with the art historian Misia Bernasconi, Verena Pedrotta will guide the audience through the Ronco dei Fiori garden, sharing her in-depth botanical knowledge and her memories of Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach.
Through period photographs, visitors will be able to retrace some of the highlights of social life in the Arps’ garden, such as birthday parties and other events, which were always enhanced by floral arrangements.
This event is part of a series dedicated to the estate’s garden, where Jean/Hans Arp (1886-1966) and Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach (1902-1994) lived. This special place where nature and art coexist, constitutes a precious heritage that requires constant care, attention and shared responsibility.

Visita guidata alla mostra Charlotte Bara. Legami di famiglia tra Ascona, Willingen e Worpswede
La visita guidata si terrà in lingua tedesca, insieme al co-curatore della mostra Andrej Seuss. Germanista e autore, Seuss ha interamente trascritto e studiato il carteggio di oltre 800 lettere che sta alla base del progetto espositivo e del libro che lo accompagna.
In un dialogo tra storia e arte, la mostra presenta la storia della famiglia della danzatrice sacra Charlotte Bara, ripercorrendo le vicende nei primi decenni del Novecento che hanno segnato non solo la regione del Locarnese, ma l’Europa tutta.

Guided tour of the exhibition Charlotte Bara: Family Ties Between Ascona, Willingen, and Worpswede
The guided tour will be conducted in German, led by the exhibition’s co-curator, Andrej Seuss. A Germanist and author, Seuss has transcribed and researched the entire collection of over 800 letters that serve as the source material for the exhibition and the accompanying book.
In a dialogue between history and art, the exhibition presents the family history of the sacred dancer Charlotte Bara, retracing the events of the early decades of the 20th century that shaped not only the Locarno region but all of Europe.

Visita musicale alla scoperta della fotografia di Dorothy Bohm
La violinista Chiara Stauffer – formatasi alla Hochschule für Musik di Basilea e alla Juilliard School di New York – accompagnerà i visitatori attraverso la mostra Dorothy Bohm, fotografie. Il rivelarsi della luce in un viaggio che, attraverso la musica, farà scoprire le opere della fotografa britannica in modo inedito.

A Musical Tour Exploring the Photography of Dorothy Bohm

Poem from dreams of imperfect utopias – Workshop di ascolto, scrittura e registrazione collettiva a cura di Roberto Casti
Poem from dreams of imperfect utopias è un workshop dell’artista italiano Roberto Casti ideato in occasione di “Luoghi di seconda origine”, residenza a Monte Verità (Ascona, Svizzera) in collaborazione con il MAN di Nuoro (Sardegna).
Il laboratorio prevede una sessione di ascolto e un confronto di gruppo informale sul tema dell’utopia contemporanea, in relazione a situazioni di crisi sociali, politiche ed ecologiche.
In seguito, attraverso la scrittura e la registrazione, si comporrà un poema collettivo, che diventerà parte integrante di un’installazione sonora.

Poem from dreams of imperfect utopias – Collective Listening, Writing and Recording Workshop led by Roberto Casti
Poem from Dreams of Imperfect Utopias is a workshop by Italian artist Roberto Casti, conceived as part of Places of Second Origin, an artist residency at Monte Verità (Ascona, Switzerland) in collaboration with MAN Museum of Nuoro (Sardinia, Italy).
The workshop begins with a listening session followed by an informal group discussion on the theme of contemporary utopia, explored in relation to current social, political and ecological crises.
Participants will then collaborate on writing and recording a collective poem, which will become an integral part of a sound installation.

Di donne, morte e diavoli: intreccio di leggende ticinesi narrate in dialetto
Serata di teatro di narrazione in dialetto ticinese nella corte esterna del museo.
Serafina, Miseria e Lazarona: tre donne, tre protagoniste di leggende locali le cui storie procedono in parallelo: episodio dopo episodio si passa più volte dall’una all’altra, creando una sorta di polifonia in cui ogni vicenda riflette e commenta le altre. Il pubblico segue tre destini intrecciati, e il piacere sta nel cogliere i rimandi, le somiglianze, le differenze tra le tre donne e i loro antagonisti.
Lo spettacolo vede in scena l’attrice Wanda Zurini, accompagnata dalle musiche dal vivo di Danilo Moccia (flauto) e Consuelo Garbani (percussioni), regia di Giampaolo Gotti.

Of women, death and devils: a tapestry of Ticino legends told in dialect
An evening of storytelling theatre in the Ticino dialect in the museum’s outdoor courtyard.
Serafina, Miseria and Lazarona: three women, three protagonists of local legends whose stories unfold in parallel: episode after episode, the narrative shifts repeatedly from one to the other, creating a sort of polyphony in which each story reflects upon and comments on the others. The audience follows three intertwined destinies, and the pleasure lies in spotting the references, the similarities and the differences between the three women and their antagonists.
The show features actress Wanda Zurini, accompanied by live music from Danilo Moccia (flute) and Consuelo Garbani (percussion), directed by Giampaolo Gotti.
Free admission.
